Well i found out that the rumor that was mentioned here on this board of Renaissance Billiards in Quincy Mass. being sold is true. I talked with Mark Ransom up at the Joss Event at Turning Stone Casino about the rumor and he informed me that the paperwork is in progress. I got the impression that the new smoking law in Mass. had something to do with it. Mark has a couple of Diamond tables with lights for sale if anybody is looking. To bad. It was a nice place to play and watch a tournament. mark stated that he did not know if the new owners have intentions of bringing the Joss Tour back next year or what they were going to do with the business. Hopefully they will bring the tour stop back. well here's hoping........mike

I have always like Renaisance. I never thought that it was a very good location buried way up that hallway from the street, and always wondered how he survived anyway. I also think his business was slipping prior to the smoking ban. Now with smokers having to take that 150 foot walk to the street to smoke it must really disturb the flow of games.
Funny felling the first time I walked in there to play. That building used to be a Sears until the malls and Walmarts killed the downtown areas. I bought my first lawn mower just about where the bar area is in there.
I've also heard rumors that the place was being bought for the liquor license and might very well no longer be a pool room at all. Of course even a bar in there will have the same location problem, maybe the new buyer intends to take the liquor license to a new location.
Good luck to Mark, I'm sure he'll stay involved in pool.
