View Full Version : First cue

Made my first cue today. Well kinda. Sawed a Valley house cue in half and put in a 5/16 18 pin and shaft insert. I now have a genuine sneaky pete, still says Valley 16 oz on the shaft. Next Iíll play with weight bolts and such. Then maybe add joint rings and a butt ring just to see how that goes. All with the little light weight Cue Companion lathe. Not trying to pretend Iím using a junk cue anyway; those days are long gone and good riddance.

Since CC mentioned handle size Iíve checked about 2 dozen house cues of various brands and he is correct that they tend to be on the small size. However they are fat where the joint should be and all the pre-tapered shafts Iíve found are too small. So donít guess I get to try those shafts with the gazillion laminations. /ccboard/images/graemlins/grin.gif
