I was in Las Vegas last weekend, and happened to notice the marquee at the Plaza hotel/casino downtown. It mentioned that an event involving Allison Fisher, Loree Jon Jones, Ewa Laurance, etc., was going on -- so I went in to check it out.
The "event" was the taping of a soon-to-be-broadcast television show, with some female professionals teaming up with "celebrities" (you'll see why I'm using quotes in a minute) in Scotch-doubles format Seven-Ball games. The segment I happened to see was Ewa Mataya Laurance vs. Sarah Ellerby. Ewa's "celebrity" partner was her husband Mitch Laurance. Sarah's partner was James Tolkan ("Stinger" in Top Gun). Other pros included Allison Fisher and Loree Jon Jones, and the other celebs included Paul Sorvino (whom I admittedly like a lot) and -- ahem -- Larry Manetti (who played "Rick" on Magnum, PI, about a million years ago).
Anyway, the taping was fun and it looked like the show might be entertaining to some of us die-hard fans (although I doubt that the cast assembled is going to reel in many non-pool types). Just wondering if anyone else had heard about this, or knows when it will be broadcast, what network, etc.
Thanks for all the great information on this board. I've been lurking for a while but will try to do my part in the future.
