View Full Version : Cleaning an Irish Linen Wrap

I wanted to get some feedback on the proper way to clean an Irish Linen wrap. I have a white with a brown spec wrap that gets dirty pretty fast and wanted to see what was the best way to clean it. The wrap is light in color and I don't want to make it spotty or discolor it anymore than it is.

Unless you have a lathe take it to a professional. When cleaning the wrap you have to dry it back out so to speak. Because you are putting cleaner on it. The only way to do that is to have it spinning on a lathe and using some oak to press it dry. It will probably cost 15-20 to have it cleaned. But it will look good when done correctly!

Best to have it spun and cleaned with the right kind of alcohol, lightly sanded, and sealed with this. http://www.tigerproducts.com/images/Care%20Maintenance/WaterStain.jpg
