View Full Version : Sending your customers a tracking number...

Please let us web site customers know when our package will arrive!

When I order things from some web sites which ship via UPS, I receive an email with a tracking number for my shipment. (From: QuantumViewNotify@ups.com) All I need to do is click on a link in the email, then it tells me when my order will arrive.

I then know when I should be home to receive my shipment.

At the bottom of the email, it says... "This e-mail was automatically generated by UPS e-mail services at the shipper's request".

This UPS service seems to be called "Quantum View Notify". It says "Notifications are provided at no charge".

Good afternoon:

Shipments we process "On-Line" with UPS have a data field for the customer's E-Mail address. When the customer's E-Mail address has been entered, and checked the notification request checked, UPS will automatically issue the notification with a tracking link to the recipient.

Organizations which do not use the "On-Line" service, those with hardware and systems provided by UPS, must have the ability to do the same. However, since we only use the "On-Line" service, I amnot certain as to how the other equipment processes notifications when the shipping label is produced.
