What is the common size of pool tables used in tournaments?
Strickland says to practice on a 9 1/2' table.

Most major tournaments are played on 4.5 X 9 foot tables.

(I would love to know where Earl found a 9.5 foot table! /ccboard/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Well, to be fair to Earl, the PHYSICAL OUTER measurements of a Crown, a Diamond Pro, a Big G, etc., is actually 9'6". Perhaps, that's what he meant.

... or perhaps since the playing surface of a "9 foot" tables is 100 inches (8 ft. 4 in.), maybe a "10 foot" table really has a playing surface which is 9'6".
Anybody know what the playing surface of a 10 footer is?

Steve...It depends on whether it is a pro tournament or not. The majority of amateur tournaments are held on 7' tables (might be a Valley barbox, or Diamond Smart Table), whether it's in a bar, poolroom, or at a national tournament in Las Vegas or Reno. Most 'pro' events are played on 9' tables.
