Alan Rolon is the 2005 Panamerican Champion
Mr. Alan Rolon, current Puerto Rico National Champion and 2004 Panamerican Champion successfully defended his title this past weekend in the Dutch-Caribbean Island of Aruba. Mr. Alan Rolon went undefeated for his 2nd consecutive Panamerican Title.
64 players from 15 countries participated in the event. Most of the players being National Champions of their respective countries.
The first 8 players in the event have each won a spot to the upcoming World-Pool Championships to be held in Taipei, Taiwan.
The Players are:
Alan Rolon from Puerto Rico = Champ
Enrique Rojas from Chile = Runner-up
Gustavo Espinoza from Argentina = 3rd Place
Jose Luis Perez from Venezuela = 4th Place
Edgardo Ramirez from Puerto Rico = 5th Place
Ismael Paez from Mexico = 6th Place
Alex Jimenez from Costa Rica = 7th Place, and
Jerry Calderon from Venezuela = 8th Place.
Placements were made by each player's average during the Panamerican Tournament.
In his quest for the Title, Alan Rolon defeated:
Aquiles Vis from Netherland Antilles = 9-2
Alex Jimenez from Costa Rica = 9-4
Ismael Páez from Mexico = 9-7
Francisco Taylor from Nicaragua = 9-6
Jose Luis Perez from Venezuela = 9-6 (1999 and 2000 Panamerican Champion)
Gustavo Espinoza from Argentina = 9-8
and Enrique Rojas from Chile = 11-8
Other Puerto Rican results:
Jason Cruz = 13th
Juan Rodriguez = 19th
Enrique Montalvo = 20th
Javier Perez = 32nd
Wilberto Ortiz = 34th
