I've got a question for Steve (pooltchr):

You said you've already spoken to the Behrman's about doing the raffle to include the US Open fans.

1. What kind of raffle will we do? Will we have a separate raffle for each item (not a good idea IMO) or just 1 raffle and call out the numbers after each item? (I prefer this one).

2. How and how much will we sell the tickets for? I can tell you that I DO NOT want to be stuck in a booth selling tickets. The last thing I'd want to do is to be stuck in a booth during the Open--I've got people to see places to go. Teehee. But I will help.

3. When will the raffle be held? Will it be everyday, every other day, or on the last day maybe during the break between the semi-finals and finals?

Barry said he would promote it during the announcements each day, or whatever he could to help.
As for the format, I like the idea of a single raffle with several winning numbers. Much easier to keep up with.
I sell raffle tickets at my tournaments and sell them for $5 each, 3 for $10 or 10 for $20....most people like the $20 deal. Just a suggestion.
I'm not sure what I will be doing up there, I know I will have to put some time in actually doing some work. /ccboard/images/graemlins/shocked.gif Hopefully, we can find someone with a booth that can handle ticket sales for us, or at least share some space for the project.
I originally posted it up as just a suggestion...I was kinda hoping someone with better organizational skills than I would take the ball and run with it. My wife will tell you my strength is certainly not in being detail oriented. I will certainly do whatever I can to assist, including putting in some time selling tickets myself.

Steve, this is something that I just thought of as I read your message and it's totally just me thinking out loud:

Do you think that maybe Barry can have just a few or all of the items (right now we have a total of 6 items that may take up space and the other 2 are or will be certificates) on display at the counter where you retrieve your tickets (his daughter(s) is/are usually manning that area and I think someone is always there.) Anyway, if we could, then maybe a sign/flyer can be made up (I can do that) and have it rest against one of the items on display and maybe the sign can say something like "Please look for anyone wearing a CCB button to purchase a raffle ticket" (not the little one from last year, we would need a bigger one so that it's visible that can say CCB Raffle).

We would, of course, have to carry the raffle tickets around with change to hand back. I wouldn't want his daughters to have to be the ones to sell the tickets since Barry is already helping us out and it's a CCB thing after all!

Anyway, here's the list of items so far:

U.S. Open Raffle Items
1 $695 Cue-Tech Pool School (http://www.poolschool.info) Tuition - randyg
1 Audrick Custom Cue (Philippines) - cueball1950 (Mike)
1 Butterfly Jump Cue - cueball1950
1 2005 Silver Dollar - cueball1950
1 Guissepe 2x4 Case - LJC_Cues (Luke)
Bags of Nuts - Barbara
1 Cue - mtuckeriii (Murray Tucker III)
$300 Half Day Scott Lee Lesson - Scott Lee

The flyer can say something like "Win This Cue" and then a list of the remaining items can be shown below that phrase.

I'm thinking out loud.

I like the way you think out loud. I think Barry would go along with that. Maybe we could get a few t-shirts with CCB Raffle on the back to make us easy to spot in the crowd.
(Damn, now you've got ME thinking out loud!)

Or, instead of t-shirts (no, I'm not a big fan of those!), maybe we can do up simple neck dangly things like the way they do the US Open pass that you can hang around your neck. Or maybe, if you still have your CCB badge from last year's tourney, we can make up the badge and stick it in the little plastic thingy and clip it on to attire.

If Barry okays the display idea, let me know and I'll do up a flyer to put up against the display and post it on here for opinions.
