Music download recommendations

Do you have any recommendations for music download sites? I would want to be able to download a song and burn it to a CD that plays on normal CD players. From there I should be able to do just about anything I'd want to with it, including putting it back on the computer in mp3 format or copying it to another CD...

There are so many different music download sites now, and I'd hate to join all of them, but I wouldn't mind paying a buck a song for songs I want.

If anyone can do it for me for just one song, please PM me...

I bought out a DJ's collection last year, and I have every song to make the Billboard weekly top 40 for the past 50 years (actually through 2000).

Or, if you don't mind pirating, I'd recommend the site WinMX. Very similar to the old Napster, but it's true peer-to-peer.

How about free??? Over at Azbilliards in the NPR forum I posted ALOT of free Mp3 links and search engines. The thread is called favorite websites or something like that. Or if you are into P2P programs I use Soulseek. Also, you can go the DC++ route too.
