You mean a "recent" Men's back-to-back Champion, right?

Mens: Earl Strickland in 1990 and 1991 and......
Note: He also won the 2002 Edition.

Women back-to-back:

Robin Bell, also in 1990 and 1991.

Women back-to-back-to-back:

Allison Fisher in 1996, 1997, and 1998.
Note: She also won the 2001 Championship.

Juniors:

Hui-Kai Hsia (TPE) in 1992 and 1993.
Kung-Chang Huang (TPE) in 1995 and 1996.
Hui-Chan Lu (TPE) in 1998 and 1999.

When I said back to back, I should have mentioned the modern day era format of this tournament. In 1999 it went to Cardiff and the format changed.It is much more inclusive of nations from around the world and is more of a true world championship.

I'm sure Earl was happy to win in 1990-91,however,he would probably tell you that he cherishes that 2002 victory much more. RJ

Yes, I understand what you are saying. Today's Championship Tournaments include a much wider field and a great number of players from around the World.

It would be interesting to see what happens with Alex; he is definitely a contender again this year.
