Are there any links you know of that will help me to visualize the subtleties, strategies & techniques used in pool? I'd like to get some good ideas that would help me better understand the game.

I've just begun to play pool (after playing it for one year in a dorm back in 1973). It seems I have some small ability to make difficult shots & the game makes sense to me but I'm re-inventing the wheel and would like some ideas on how to better plan, anticipate & execute shots.

It seems like with the Internet that there might be some web sites with videos or demonstrations of how to learn some important techniques.

Here is a good place to start. This site even has a few videos. http://www.easypooltutor.com/articles.html

A very important point, even moreso than the brand of table, is the quality of installation. A bad installer can make a $10,000 Brunswick play like an $800 Sears & Roebuck Slatron table, while the best installers could probably make the Sears table play pretty well. If you do go with Brunswick, they are very demanding of their certified dealers and installers, so I'd recommend checking Brunswick's website for an authorized dealer near you, preferably a Premier dealer. You can find Brunswick's at unauthorized dealers, but don't expect much in the way of the lifetime warranty support that you get with an authorized dealer.
