View Full Version : Virus Alert-Norton Anti Virus

I came here earlier Fri night, 6-14. I got a:
Virus Alert
Norton AntiVirus has detected a virus on your computer.
Object Name: C:\Documents and Settings\Eddie\LocalSet...\WinScvs32(1).scr
Virus Name: Backdoor.Trojan
Action Taken: Unable to repair this file.

My son got rid of it. I just came back here. I didn't even get to scroll to the bottom of the page and the Virus Alert popped up again. So I don't know if this message board is causing the virus or not.

Hi Anon,

That does not mean you got it here. I don't have a problem at all. I'm willing to bet your son didn't get rid of the virus totally. It's not that easy to get rid of. A lot of these virus's hide themselves throughout your computer, in other files or create there own.

Something tells me you'll find that puppy still around. I know, I've dealt with Badtrans32 or something like that. Now, that was a bitch. What you need is a fire wall. There's a lot of other people here, on the board. That are more well versed about this thing. My suggestion is go to Norton Antivirus home page, and look up the virus. It'll tell you how to find it, how it got there and get rid of it. Then, get the McAfee fire wall and Virus protection. JAT

Good luck,

C.C.

ZoneAlarm is a very good firewall that can be downloaded from the internet for free. It will prevent unauthorized access to your computer from outside sources.

REALITY CHECK

Do your systems need ZoneAlarm?

Going online without a personal firewall is the computer
version of unsafe sex. ZoneAlarm offers solid protection,
but introducing it to your system can be awkward at first.
