View Full Version : mcdermott cue info wanted
Hi, I'm new in here, just wondering if anyone can tell me anything about the C157 Alpha Plus Mcdermott cue. The cost of the cue is only 160 $ is that going to be a good quality cue,,,it seems kinda cheep?! It doesnt give me a tip size, we'd like 12.75. When I watch the pro's play I notice their cue makes a hollow thud sound I've heard that a butt heavy cue weighted shaft is recommended. Appreciate any comments. Never used one so I want some tips before I buy yet another cue!!! Have any questions about pool other than about Mcdermotts feel free to ask. Cory

as to quality, McDermott is a good quality cue IMO. I have shot with them for 5 years

I have a McDermott C152. I began using it as a break cue, and recently as my only cue and it does very nicely. It is a nice solid cue for the money IMO.

McDermott makes a good cue.
Typically, you can order the shaft tip from 12.00 to 14.00 in 0.25 increments for no charge, but that depends on who you're buying from - if they want to go through the trouble. Also, I'm not sure if McDermott makes different tip sizes for their cheaper cues. Ask.

They do for sure, I spec'd mine at 13.5mm to be used as a break cue and since McD's normal shafts are on the flexible side.
