Hello,

I have just bought this old Meucci Original and cannot find it anywhere in the brochures on the net - Bugetcues, Discounted Cues (Mad mike) etc.

It looks like a cheapy, can anyone give me some info on it?

It's an early version of the Meucci "European" in natural birdseye or curly maple. I would have dated the cue 1986 - 1989, so the ad date of 1986 is pretty accurate.

These were a very popular, relatively inexpensive plain Meucci that can be distinguished by the plastic collar above the butt cap and the thin plastic rings bordering the collars.

These cues were sold by the thousands by dealers like Cornhuskers of Nebraska (now Muellers). This cue would be worth in the $150 - $175 range at auction values in excellent condition. The value is helped by the old logo. Newer logo versions might go for $100 to $125.

I like the way the older Meucci's play and feel. To me most of them are well balanced and feel natural in my hands. My experience has been Meucci's play "soft" - they use a soft, thin ferrule and have a wood to wood joint with a thin, light plastic collar.

It was certainly a good price - that's about $90 US.
