Well folks it appears that we have another person who is trying to steel or at least copy a friend of mine product. I was looking around on the internet and ran across this website. http://billiardclub.net/shop/index....97d8e3bfbecfee5 This is a can of Quick Clean that was used at the US Open for the past few years to clean the tables and behold this guy is trying to sell it as (Chalk Off).

Well I just happen to know Davis Hodges who invented the Quick Clean and I just don’t think this is right. This website is not only selling the same thing with a different name he is using the same can as Quick Clean with Ralf Souquet‘s picture on it. I contacted a few people about this and I have been told that this guy is putting the pressure on Berry Berman to use his product at the US Open because he also is the same guy that does the filming for the TV also. I think the pool world has enough trouble with out having things like this going on.

It is one thing to develop a product and market it but it is something else to out right copy someone’s idea. I found this on the Billiard Club web site. Not to my surprise this guy was at one time world distributor for the Quick Clean product but fell through because of things un known to me. My question to all of the pool players in the world is this. Do you feel that this is right?? To me it is out right steeling another man’s product.

I know from past experience that the pool world does not like things like this and I am hoping that we all can pull together and put a stop to it. I think people should use their mind to figure things out for themselves. I guess some people have figured out it is to easy to STEEL or COPY things that other people have already done. How do you feel about this??

Of course it's wrong.

Your link doesn't work. Here's another:

I don't much like the guy, though.

I don't know any of the people involved but it doesn't look like anyone is stealing anything here. The product linked to (Chalk-Off (http://billiardclub.net/shop/index.php/cPath/295)) has a product number of QC001 (the QC being Quick Clean) and the picture shown is the Quick Clean can and says Quick Clean on the top.

Why they call it Chalk Off could be for several reasons. It could just be a re-branding which hasn't been completed yet. The BCN may be purchasing the product to sell under their own label, which is very common in the business world. Most likely they just wanted to give it a name that more accurately explained it's purpose. At any rate the product has to be purchased form the manufacturer/distributor so again I don't think anything is being stolen here.
