Does anyone have any tips for jump shots? I am looking for a little direction/instruction on setup and execution of a proper jump shot. The only way that I have ever known is to shoot extremely low on the CB and hope for the best, I know that this is risky in that I may tear the cloth someday. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Sure. That's one of many topics covered in the RSB FAQ. See http://www.sfbilliards.com/faq.html
There are also several sites on the web that are selling jump cues that have some suggestions for shooting them. But since you seem to be a relative beginner, except for trying them briefly for fun, I suggest that you stay away from them at the start.

Call Jerry Powers at Cue-Tech in Dallas and tell him you want to learn how to jump correctly.

FYI, there are links to useful threads under "jump shot" in the threads summary area of my website (http://www.engr.colostate.edu/~dga/pool/threads.html).

There are also jump shot videos here (http://www.xtremebilliard.com) and a forum in which you can ask questions on how to jump, and compare various jump cues and what not.
