Sure will be interesting to see if this works. Robb Saez (aka ROBB-N-HOOD?) is offering up space on himself to the highest bidder:
eBay Item #5611052197 (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5611052197)
Looking for that casino that buys up weird advertising space perhaps?
I'll keep a watch on this one! I wonder what his other sponsors think of the idea...

Earlier this year, one of the top horse racing jockeys and I can't remember which, did the same thing. You would get an ad down his leg and the starting price was $15,000. Naturally this was worth much more due to the TV exposure. This ended either with or just before the Kentucky Derby. He must not have much faith in himself with a starting bid of .99 cents.

Carom players have been wearing advertizing for a long time (for Simonis, Longoni, Minolta, ...) There are rules about what is allowed and whether they have to also wear logos of the major sponsors of the tournament.

I also wonder what kind of problems this may cause in televised events. I know you see some logos blurred out in replays and such. So if he's in an event televised on ESPN, surely FSN couldn't buy the advertising space on his clothing.

Thanks for the post. I'm high bidder at the moment. If I win (highly unlikely) , I think I'm going to put all of our screen names on his shirt.

I wonder what the tournament organizers will say,
if the high bidder is the local porno palace. /ccboard/images/graemlins/blush.gif /ccboard/images/graemlins/blush.gif /ccboard/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Maybe we should all bid together and have him carry an Advertisement for our CCB tournament?....lolol......mike

Spetty, Golfers have been doing this for years, they now have rules to regulate how many ads they can wear. I don't know if the caddy has the same rules. No ones bag is plain, the Logos are put so that they are visible when the golfers are swinging and the caddy is visable.
They sort of resemble walking whores, every part of their body is for sale.####

The $11K would have given him his $10K entry into the WSOP, plus $1K for expenses. That's not a bad deal, if he got it.
Do you know if he was successful?
I see a lot of the players with company names and logos, in clear view. I would be willing to bet that most of them are getting paid something.

If I'm not mistaken in the 70's - 80's the entire Soviet Olympic Team used to be sponsored by the Coca Cola Cor Poration, wore the company colours exclusively, and had the company initials emblazoned across their chests. Rather unsurprisingly the US retaliated by wearing Pepsi's colours.

I have an accu-stats tape around here somewhere with Nick Varner wearing a huge Falcon on his back during the U.S. open in 92' I think? Weenie Beenie was commenting to Grady about it picking him up and flying away with him:)

Looks like he's at it again:
Wonder if the first one fell through?

If he keeps this up, his shirt is going to look like the backend of a Deadhead's Volkswagen van.
