Someone offered to sell me a Karella K-3 cue. I love the design (similar to the Schon STL 13) but don't know too much about the quality of the cue. If anyone can give me some insight, that would be much appreciated.

Karella is made by the same people who produce Balabushka, Helmstetter and Adams cues. I would assume that they're also made in Japan, and are likely very high quality production cues. I own a Helmstetter, and it's very well made and shoots nicely.

By the way, beautiful cue! Here's a link if anyone would like to see a K3.

I would purchase it if the price is right. These cues were made in the U.S. several years ago. They went out of production and US Competition Cues/Company purchased the rights to make them again. These are the same people selling the Balabuska's right now.
I used to have their catalog but don't have it anymore. That was possibly 5-10 years ago.

A quick search provided the following info:
This custom cue series started in the mid 1990's as a joint venture merging the designs and techniques of two individuals with over 60 years experience. These new designs incorporate modern techniques ultilizing the finest woods from all over the world. These 100 percent inlayed cues offer the player fine performance at reasonable prices.
