What do you all recommend to use to scuff your phenolic tips and how often? Mine's about as hard as a pool ball.

Hey Cheechalk "O"
*S* I hope that came across correctly. *S*
Anyway that is just what you want is good and Hard! It should "dink" when you hit a ball. I have scuffed mine with the ultimate tip tool to a nickel radius and just enough for it to take chalk. The tip should last forever!!

I'm a Sourdough, not a Cheechako! Don't go spitting on my Mukluks! /ccboard/images/graemlins/wink.gif
Seriously, thanks for the advice. It's just that it's so smooth and doesn't hold chalk well. Of course I hit center on the break, but I still miscue once in a while. I know I know, work on keeping my stroke straight.

I have a small piece of 80 grit paper in my cue case. I only scuff it occasionally. My tip is about the radius of a quarter.
