I have the bca rule book and it does explain Kelly pool. However, my set of peas has 1- 16. My understanding is that the 16 can be used for the cue ball. How do you play this? Is it just a legal hit on the lowest ball and scratching wins? What about a scratch off the break? Any help with this particular variation would be helpful. thanks all!

When we play the extra peas are ghost balls. There is no value to the extra peas. Also, we usually only use 9 balls. If you have 4 players you choose one pea and there are five extras. Or, you could use two peas per player and have one extra. Around my house we play for high stakes, 10 cents a pea.
