OK, here we go.

I'm your guest for an evening of pool. What/where would you take me to and why?

If you were my guest in Dallas I would entertain you at "Cool River". Great food, cool Diamond tables and a nice private corner to call home for an evening.....randyg

If I was in Dallas, i'd take them to PettyPoint. Of course, I'm not in Texas anymore but I'd still take them to Pettypoint as there's certainly nothing around here.

One of my favorite places was always High Pockets in Memphis but sadly, that's out of driving range as well.

Well, Randy, since great little Poteau, Oklahoma is like the Great Pool Room Barrenland, I'd probably take the drive to Tulsa and take you to Tulsa Billiard Palace, or MaGoo's. One is great pool and so-so food, the other has a little younger crowd but GREAT food and still have excellent equipment.

Later,
Bob

But you would have to wear your Mickey Mouse ears or you'd get bad sunburn. /ccboard/images/graemlins/grin.gif

We could also go to EPCOT - I know you would love it there. Lots of cool stuff.

http://members.chello.at/wpayer/Florida/SeaWorldOrlandoWerbung_03.jpg

Then we could go see Shamu.

and Universal Studios.

Then we could go to House of Blues and enjoy some good music.

I wouldn't take you anywhere. I'm not allowed to drive for 3 months. /ccboard/images/graemlins/crazy.gif (No more seizures for 6 months.) There is a nice hall here that has a few bar tables with good cloth, and balls. (Main Street Billiards) Otherwise, I'd drive to Joplin, Mo. to J-town billiards. Good food and drinks. /ccboard/images/graemlins/grin.gif

If we get the chance to do a class up in the Raleigh area, we would have to go to Babineau's. The gold crowns are always in top notch condition, Paul Babineau is a great host, and his wife puts out some of the best food in town. People go there for the food who don't even play pool!

I am going to have to get you some real Carolina Bar-B-Q the next time you are here.

Things are going great as far as making little cars. I just am still working unholy hours but you expect that for a while. Still no place to play and no players af any talent around. Tori is considered a tough player here! /ccboard/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

My best to all there.</font color>

Steve,

Is Carolina Bar-b-que the same as what they have in Spartanburg,S.C.? Because, this stuff was just boiled meat! I couldn't eat mine and trew it on the ground at a horse ranch and the yard dogs would not eat it. I swear.

If there is some better there, I'd like to know. I know as aMemphis guy, I am spoiled but was just wondering if I got into a bad batch. The locals seemed to like the stuff, however. </font color>

likes the Carolina crab cakes a lot....

I sure wouldn't take you out for an evening of pool. You deal with pool players every day...some with overblown expectations, some like me, that caused 2 PGA member, teachers, to turn in their cards, after just a few lessons, and some normal ones...although I'm not sure what passes for normal, in regards to pool.
Anyway, you must have pool up to your wazoo...and need a break. You wouldn't take "The Rifleman" to a skeet shoot; you wouldn't take the "Lone Ranger" to a rodeo.......
If you came to the Bay Area...I'd take you to the Opera, or the Ballet, whichever season was current at the time, and I'd take you to one of the many fine restaurants that the area is known for, like Fleur De Lys, or Chapeau.
AND, after you attended the Opera, or Ballet, after your dinner.....I'd pick you back up. You didn't think I was going to be caught dead in any of them places?

Well I miss you a little more than that Deemeister...gotta suck up so-az not to screw up Deeman finding me a southern bell when he comes to visit. To hell with going to a pool hall, get me laid first! That's merely propa' southun' hospitality now ain't it...sid~~~would trade a cool river for a steaming one any day. I done changed my mind...i would take you out for a night of pool.....
at the L.V. Senior Center.
It's partners eight ball, and the rules are simple, if you ever played in a NYC bar.
1 and 15 go in opposite side pocket/ the 8 goes in the last pocket...only two fouls are recognised as fouls... cueball off table, and failure to hit the 8, when it's your only ball.and no sissyfied ball-in-hand, neither. You not hitting the 8, thus losing the game is what the other team strives for..lives for..
Throw in that no one actually shoots at their pocket, and they all belong to the American Locksmith's Guild....and it's a nite of pool, that you won't forget.....
but wish that you could.
then afterwards, you could learn line dancing, or play Bingo
It's jes fun,fun,fun

Leonard, I had a secondary stroke and seizures. The doctors wanted to observe me for 3 months to be sure I don't repeat any seizures before returning to drive again. I live alone, so it's inconvenient, still, I don't want to kill anybody. /ccboard/images/graemlins/grin.gif As far as medicines: I just about have a suit-case full that I carry with me everywhere.

Weekdays in NH, Maxamillan's in Tyngsboro, MA, because the food is good, the tables are Connelly Ultimates in the process of being recovered with Simonis 860, some still suck, there's no smoking in MA, and the waitresses generally look nice.
At home in MA, Mickeys because it's close and cheaper or Renaissance if you want to drink a little. I don't do the city (Boston) except under extreme pressure.
Sorry that's the best I could do for you.

Gayle,

I have found some good carb cakes in baltimmore, right downtown near the ESPN place. However, I had some really good ones in South Carolina but they may have been Maryland cakes just disguised as Calolina ones....

Deeman
look forward to Gayle's Crabs (cakes that is)jk

I remember when I went to school in Baltimore....tues was "Crab" day at the nearby bar....all the crab you could eat for..
so you paid your $$, and got a little hammer, and a bib...and I saw people with crab meat on their face, in their hair....and haven't been able to eat crab since
But a good crab cake......mmmmm

It's the only one that would work on stormy seas
