I have been submitting regular articles to AZB about the Damas World 8 Ball Pool Championships here in Fujairah, United Arab Emirates, and I'm sure Mike will get around to publishing them soon (I guess he's busy elsewhere at the moment).

In the meantime, I hope nobody minds me publishing these links to our articles and photos for your information.

www.poolnieuws.nl (http://www.poolnieuws.nl) will have live rack by rack coverage of the final in the World Championship 8-ball. Nick van den Berg from the Netherlands vs. Wu Chia Ching from Taiwan (world champion 9-ball).

Both can write history in pool. Wu can be the first player that is world champion 90-ball and 8-ball in the same year and Nick van den Berg can be the first Dutch World Champion in pool.

Find out on www.poolnieuws.nl (http://www.poolnieuws.nl)

I've read on another board that Wu beat Van Den Berg 11-3 and had run 9 racks. Wu at 16 yrs. old to be both the world 9-ball as well as 8-ball champion is something that won't be easy to match. I had seen him play in person in Australia where I seen him run 7 racks in a row in 9-ball. Terry

"Little Genius" was trailing Daryl Peach 9-5 In the semi-finals. It looked like Wu was going to get kick-out of the tournament. Guess what? Wu won the semi-final 10-9.

Hi Harold, he almost lost to Steve Davis while playing with someone elses cues, his was lost at that point.I also saw the other Wu in Austria at this years worlds. The two time world junior champion Wu is also nice to watch. I'm not sure but I think they call him the Gifted One. I got pictures of both Wu's with my daughter for her pool scrap book. Terry

I've read only good reviews about Yu-Lun Wu. He was this year's favorite to win the Jr's again. Yu-Lun Wu lost his first match at this year's Juniors but managed to win the title again. That say's a lot of this young player.

I hope you enjoyed the tournament in Austria this year. I wish I could see some of these young boys and girls. It is not the same reading about them than actually seeing them play. I sure envy you. /ccboard/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Big Dave:

Could you provide the final payout for this year's Championships?
