It seems odd to me that the players (in our area) that practice day in and day out on the 9 foot tables playing 9-ball never move on to the next level. They never talk about what tournament they are traveling to because they just don't want to move up the ladder to REALLY test themselves. On the other hand, our bar table players are constantly looking for tournaments and preparing for what's next. To me the 9-ball tournaments are really tough on the big tables, so those players are happy just playing the game and not competing. There is nothing wrong with that, just enjoying the game is a great thing. Is this a local pattern and/or are other places just the opposite?
