How does birds eye maple, and ebony sound for cue butt? I'm not talking the inlay,or other cosmetic details, but I would like some input on those too. Other combinations of wood, let me know. Shaft hardrock maple.

A real good piece of birdseye for the forearm with an ebony butt sleeve with black linen wrap, black joint and black butt cap would look good.

I kind of want to get back to a retro look. I like the quilted maple, and I like the broad leaf curly maple with Gabon ebony. I would like to see 4 windows ivory frame, with ebony back ground with wood matching the forearm worked into the ebony, and ivory worked into the forearm wood. Haven't given much thought to the shaft except for the hard rock maple, and ebony and ivory. Uni joint.
