Thanks for thinking of me. Yesterday's fires weren't close to us - we're east of Dallas and most of the fires were west and southwest of Dallas. BUT, it's still really dry where we are, and we live out in the woods, and we're fearful of the New Year's Eve revelers that like to shoot off fireworks.

In reflection of my failure to pay attention to anything but the weather on the nightly news...what fires?

This story is more local to the DFW area...

Extreme conditions causing havoc (http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/dn/latestnews/stories/122905dnmetfirestory.203574c6.html)

I see that you have to register to see it. If you look soon, you can go to http:www.dallasnews.com and click on the headline story to get to it. I guess after it leaves there, you'll have to log in to see it without logging in. But, perhaps you can use http://www.BugMeNot.com (which I learned about here on this forum /ccboard/images/graemlins/smile.gif ) to get in.

It was interesting to see all the local channels doing like four hours of fire news yesterday. What was really amazing was the local weather radar picking up the smoke. And they had to shut down a highway due to the smoke.
