Is there a reason other than cosmetic to have a white shaft? I have seen several cues with white shafts, and wondered if it was a better vision thing....domonant eye over cue,or some other benefit.

I don't know about white shafts, but I got a radial laminated Predator 314 shaft which had mismatched colors of wood. (Radial laminated when looking at the end of the shaft looks like a pie with serving sized pieces cut.)
Anyway the mismatched pieces of wood form fine lines going down the shaft. At first this bothered me. But then I learned I could use these lines for aiming. So now I like it.
If I buy any more shafts in the future, I think I'll ask that the colors be mismatched intentionally. (I have a duplicate Predator shaft where the colors match and it does not have these lines.)
Anyway I learned I can adjust to a different looking shaft.
Also same thing with measles cue ball with dots on it. At first it bothered me. Now it does not bother me and I look at the dots after certain shots to see if the cue ball is doing what I want or not.

I plan to buy on of the red dotted cue balls.
