View Full Version : buying a new table

I'm in the market for a new 8ft table. I checked out the Brunswick Avalon home furniture model with a price tag of $3899. I also looked at the very similar Presidential Hamptons Teak model at $3800. I've seen a few posts on the Brunswick table but nothing on Presidential. The Presidential dealer really pushes the quality of the teak an African hardwood. I believe the brunswick is made of maple. Anyone have any ideas as to the quality of these tables and also I've seen a few posts mention getting an upgrade to simonis 860. If anyone can let me know what that is and if I should be asking for it. Thanks

simonis 860 is the cloth that goes on the table. It's actually woven wool.

You really should consider an Olhausen. They have Accufast cushions, Italian slate, best warranty in the business and they're made here in the USA. Brunswick can boast none of those claims.

Take a look at the Imperial internatioal Salem. It has 1 inch Italian slate, all maple wood construction,k66 rails.I paid $2400.00, inclueds delivery and setup.A good looking well made table.I shoped it against the Brunswick and the Oauhlson good luck.

Not all true The Italians have been purchaseing slate from Brazil for quite a while now.And the main source for rubber Olhausen uses in there cushions does not come from the Us.Made from 100% gum rubber, imported gum rubber just like everyone else.
