What weight break cue do you use, and why? Is it better to use one about the same weight as your playing cue?

Slipstroke...The same, or even a little lighter. Several pros are using a lighter cue to break with, because they can swing the cue faster. Most pros do NOT use a significantly heavier cue to break with.

My Auerbach Custom Break Cue is just about the same as my Pechauer play cue. I like the matched weight. I break up the rack very nicely...

My playing cue is 20.2 oz., and my not too old break cue is 19.5 oz.

Throw a light weight rubber ball as fast as you can.
Throw a heavy bowling ball as fast as you can.

Get a big truck to go 55 as fast as you can.
Get a small car to go 55 as fast as you can.

It is easier to get something lighter weight moving fast sooner. I use a 17.5 oz breaking cue (19.5 oz playing cue).

My JJ Jump break Cue is 19oz. The same as my Bob Frey playing cue.
