One of my favorite joys of posting on the Internet and forums like Billiards Digest is being able share my experiences on the tournament trail and as well read all about the events going on around the world. While the IPT qualifier was in full swing at Hard Times in California, there were quite a few players battling it out for the $25,000-added Joss Northeast 9-Ball Tour event.

This past week, I made the trek to Verona, NY, February 16-19, 2006, to attend the $25,000-added Turning Stone Classic VII Open 9-Ball Tournament, with a very diversified field of 128 players.

For those who haven't been to the Turning Stone Casino, I would recommend it highly, whether a player or a railbird like me. The venue was absolutely gorgeous, and very pool-player friendly, with plenty of room between the tables and not a bad seat in the house.

Here's a few pics I took of the event, but they don't even begin to capture the excitement which was non-stop. I can't wait for the next one on the Joss tournament trail, August 17-20, 2006.

Here are my pics of the event: http://hometown.aol.com/jamalloy/2006turningstone.html

Um /ccboard/images/graemlins/blush.gif excuse my ignorance, but is Keith the guy that guy that told Tom Cruise "you got lucky, you lucky Pr!ck" (Grady Seasons)

You'll have to pardon me for um hallucinating or being on too much cold medication if I'm wrong. But he totally looks like the guy(but a bit older)

Thanks, Rich. I hope you guys can fit it in your tournament schedule to come and experience the Joss/Turning Stone tournament sometime. It's about a 6-1/2-hour drive from D.C., but it is well worth the trip. Each year keeps getting better, and the venue is so comfortable for spectators and railbirds. /ccboard/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I've still got Turning Stone fever (LOL) this fine Saturday morning, to include touching base with my one-quarter Native American background (Cherokee-North Carolina).

Here's a few more pics from Turning Stone (page 2): http://www.hometown.aol.com/jamalloy/2006turningstonepage2.html

Check out the new hand-made Native American purse I bought at the Turning Stone with Keith's winnings. /ccboard/images/graemlins/grin.gif

BTW, my camera is an outdated Olympus 2.0 megapixel, which seems to work just fine still. However, on QVC today, the Special Value of the Day is a Panasonic 6.0 megapixel with a 6X zoom lens, less than 200 bucks. I think I'm going for it! /ccboard/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
