Has anybody had the opportunity to visit and compete in this tourney? This year will be my first year competeing and I don't have a clue what to expect. I'm excited and yet a little bit nervous. By the way I am a brand new user to the forum so please bare with me as I'm trying to learn how to use everything on the site.

mikeindayton...If you're talking about the VNEA Nationals, there are many posters here who play, or have played in them. I played for many years. Expect to see several thousand poolplayers, men and women. There will be lots of booths, with all kinds of pool merchandise to purchase, including lots of cues. The 200 Valley tables they set up are all $1 a game, so you'll need lots of quarters, or dollar coins. The tournament is at the Riviera Hotel & Casino, so there's no shortage of change. The tournament rooms are usually open 24/7, and there are many mini-tournaments to enter, as well. Are you playing in singles, as well as the team event? If so, plan to be in Vegas for 7-9 days. What else do you want to know?

Scott Lee thank you very much for your imput. You answered pretty much all my questions. I will be playing in the singles and the team events, everthing is booked for the seven day stay at the Riviera, I've been to Vegas but not to shoot pool, and the Riviera is about the only hotel i've not been in. Well anyway for those who will be competeing in the Nationals good luck and shoot well.

randyg;
I'll tell you this, my team and i shouldn't be to difficult to find we have the brightest team shirts (construction orange)and have a big ware wolf holding a cue on the back of them. Our team name is the "Preditors". We should have called ourselves the "pumpkins" or maybe "death row" /ccboard/images/graemlins/grin.gif. If you happen to see a big pumpkin patch come over and say hello!!!
See ya!
Mike
