View Full Version : Cue identification...
can anyone tell me the maker of this cue? the images are not the best but it's all i got. All i know of the cue is that it's about 40 years old and purchased in Brooklyn, has a pointed brass pin (not sure of size) and collar, with no identification markings whats so ever.
Thanks /ccboard/images/graemlins/smile.gif

The pointed joint pins are most often found on Adam cues from the 70's. Can't tell from the pictures, but if the ring at the bottom of the butt sleeve is metal, it would appear to be an Adam Cougar.

No sir it's a "regular" taper, tightens cloak wise.
I was told it has a plastic type bolt material in the butt???

I looked at this cue very briefly and did not notice any metal ring in the butt sleeve area.
Thanks

My cell phone takes better pics than your camera. /ccboard/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
I think that's a full-splice Brazilian rosewood stick.
I'll give you $100 for it. /ccboard/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
lol that is what i told the guy that sent me the pics. /ccboard/images/graemlins/smile.gif
I'll try to get a better shot myself.

I'm talking about the ring shown in your pictures - just north of the butt cap at the bottom of the butt sleeve. Looks like a Hoppe ring - but can't tell from the pictures what the material is. The Cougar was supposedly metal, but I doubt that something other than metal would preclude it from being a Cougar. The pointed pin is the greatest indicator of its Adam origins.

Adam cues were decent imports, I think distributed in the '70s and '80s by Palmer. I still have an Adam "Jim Rempe" birdseye cue.
