View Full Version : Mission impossible III premier in Manhatten!

Well, first off, I hope everyones fine-I've been quite busy-my youngest daughter tore her ACL (behind kneecap) and ,of course, the SI doctors wanted to go right in and operate-NOT-so,as one should ALWAYS do-second opinion-I take her to Hospital for special surgery&operations in Manhatten-the office is filled with all pro football, baseball, basketball autographed athlete pictures of "thank you's', so, yep, thats who will do her surgery-unbelievable-June 8th!

Next, my middle daughter won tickets to Mission Impossible premier at Tribeca fim festival, so they all go up there and hang on the red carpet and meet the stars-lucky them, huh?Boy to be a kid again,ha ha ha

Next, Im suppose to go up to good morning america today to watch David Blaine sit in a thing of water and hold his breath for 9 minutes-nah-I'd rather see him do his magic thing,ya know?

And, as some of you know, I always promised my daughters if they graduate with high honors, they get a brand new car-well,Barb, watch out-Kiana is on the road-fully loaded,V6,mag wheeled, leather interior, grey metallic Sonata with a zillion airbags,ha ha ha,[the wheels alone are slamming)she is officially legal TOMORROW-although my foot goes through the floor each time we stop,ha ha ha!

And lastly, are many of you going to be in Vegas May-if so, can we meet at the Splash bar, maybe, Saturday-13th at around 8pm?

One more thing, awhile ago, we were remembering Chris Cass and he had mentioned to me to dance well, here is a passage for youse:Dancing With God

When I meditated on the word Guidance, I kept seeing "dance" at the end of the word.
I remember reading that doing God's will is a lot like dancing.
When two people try to lead, nothing feels right.
The movement doesn't flow with the music,
And everything is quite uncomfortable and jerky.
When one person realizes that, and lets the other lead,
Both bodies begin to flow with the music.
One gives gentle cues, perhaps with a nudge to the back
Or by pressing lightly in one direction or another.
It's as if two become one body, moving beautifully.
The dance takes surrender, willingness,
and attentiveness from one person
And gentle guidance and skill from the other.
My eyes drew back to the word Guidance.
When I saw "G: I thought of God, followed by 'u" and "i."
"God, 'u" and "i" dance."
God, you, and I dance.
As I lowered my head, I became willing to trust
that I would get guidance about my life.
Once again, I became willing to let God lead.

My prayer for you today is that God's blessings
And mercies be upon you on this day and everyday.
May you abide in God as God abides in you.
Dance together with God, trusting God to lead
And to guide you through each season of your life.
This prayer is powerful and there is nothing attached.
If God has done anything for you in your life,
Please share this message with someone else,
For prayer is one of the best gifts we can receive.
There is no cost but a lot of rewards;
So let's continue to pray for one another.
And I Hope You Dance!!!!!!!

Stay well everyone and dance!
See ya's,
Carol /ccboard/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Bring her down my way to learn to drive. The only thing she has to watch out for is horse and buggies or horse $hit on the road. Other than that we're tame people with great food. Best of luck on your daughter's operation.

Those horse and buggies can't hold a candle to what we have here. Last fall there was an accident with two buggies. The young Amish kids were drag racing and one lost control going around a turn and flipped the buggy. These buggies have tape decks and cd players in them. Not the meek and quiet people they portray.

Carol,
I know the buggy racing sounds like a joke but it is true. No one got hurt other than cuts and bruises. The buggy lost its' wheel. There have been incidents of Amish being arrested for drunk driving in their buggies on major highways. The Amish girls are not as pristine as everyone thinks. An old saying around here is that if you can get their bonnet off, watch out. You'll be in for the ride of your life.

Carol,
We had to keep straight lines no matter what. We would get yelled at, and do extra practice if we moved out of line and got caught. When we were in band competitions, if a judge was in front of us, we were to run him over. It was his fault for being in the way. I saw several judges get the wind knocked out of them, by the girls with the long flag poles, swinging them. It was fun...

No, other than an occassional visit, I had little contact with that side of the family. They lived in Reading and Boyertown.

I grew up in Wilkes-Barre, in Northeastern Pa. and there is no Amish or Mennonite population in that area.

I did enjoy my visits. My Uncle had a garden that was more like a small farm and my Aunt could cook with the best. /ccboard/images/graemlins/grin.gif
