Viking #5 joint- what exactly is it?

Excuse my ignorance in this subject (just coming back to playing pool...so many options!) but what exactly is the pin size of the #5 from Viking? Trying to figure out what shaft options I can go with in the future and what size joint protectors to buy for the pin size.
