Ivory vs stainless joint collars which is better. I've hired a cuemaker and I'm wondering if I should switch my joint collar to ivory. My friend has a steve klein with an ivory joint and it hits like a dream and I was wondering if it was the all the cuemaker or does the collar give more. Thank you and no more CAPS

I myself like the softer hit i think an ivory joint gives. i think that with a stainless steel joint you get a harder hit..but beware, some ivory will crack...........mike

I like the ivory myself (my cue has ivory joint). The only thing odd (and the cue maker warned me about this when I told him I wanted an ivory joint VS phenolic) is if you use a very hard tip the cue will sometimes tend to "click". I do use an extremely hard tip (cue maker calls em killer tips) and do notice every now and then a click.....but I am used to it, so it doesn't bother me.
