View Full Version : problem viewing streaming video

I'm trying to view video of a match on trickshooter.com, but when I click on the link and tell it to open the file from its current location, my computer doesn't recognize the format (.ram). I tried directing it to the two most likely-seeming programs, Quicktime Player and Media Player, neither of which could open that format. I can't see that saving the file to my PC instead of opening it directly would make any difference, since the format would still be unrecognized. I'm on a standard dial-up connection running WinME. Any suggestions?

I think you need to get the free version of Real Audio

www.real.com (http://www.real.com)

scroll down to "other links" and get "8 basic"

. . .being nitpicky. . . .

You actually need the Real video player, which is called "One" now.

It will handle all the Real filetypes (.ram, .ra, .rm, and .rpm). I think there may also be an ".rsx" extension for streaming or something, but my memory fails me. . . .

Be prepared, however, Real likes to drop shortcuts everywhere.

Before someone gave me a different link from which to download Real Player. If possible could you give that link again. This link requires a charge card number before I can download it. Thanks.

Also consider the possibility (if you are at work) that you might be behind a firewall. I cannot get any sort of video/audio stream at all from my work place.. (military)
