I recently bought 3 1 pocket tapes and would love to watch them. if only i could turn the volume down some. my neighbor can hear them across the street. the volume on my TV does nothing. even the mute button is useless. so how does 1 go about turning the volume down without buying a ton of expensive equipment. maybe i can take the tv and vcr out in the back yard and watch... keep the wood chucks and deer away from my garden....lololol...............mike

Mike, I have very limited knowledge about this stuff....but I remember reading somewhere that the audio volume is automatically turned up, when you are recording something... maybe that is occurring with your machine for some reason, when you are just playing a tape.

Unplug the jack for the audio from the VCR to the TV. Doesn't matter which end you unplug. Yellow is usually video and the VCR usually is stereo so there are usually red and white plugs or red and black plugs for the audio.
