Saturday i went to Pockets in Lansing, Michigan to play in thier new end of the month Open 9ball tournament. And I was very Impressed with how it was run.
The equipment was nice GC4's which played nice and fast too! the balls were Brunswick centennials which were cleaned regularly through-out the tournament.
And the food at the place is excellent too.
They running a tournament the last Saturday of every month.
The next one is Oct 28.
Entry Fee: 60$
Tables Open @ 1030am Calcutta starts @ 1130am
Field Limit of 48players
Race: 7/7 DE Winner break, Finals to 9
The first tournament had a good field of 21 players and I would expect the field will grow in the next couple of months till it fills up completely.
Calcutta payed over 600$ for 1st place and Prize funds payed out close to 400$ for 1st place.
Josh Brothers placed first over local fav Arnie Castillo.
Matt Beckwith finished 3rd and local fav Jerry Diaz took 4th.
There was over 1700$ in total prize funds.
I totally recommend anyone who can make the drive to Lansing, Michigan to come to this tournament.
