I know I had a great time and it seemed like everyone else did too. Wendy it's a shame you weren't able to go. Your timing with the phone call was simply uncanny. Josh had just said something about calling you... I didn't know that you called him...that's how close it was to him saying we need to call Wendy. Your ears must've been burning.

Rich & Cathy, you guys did a great job of running things. Good idea with the ring game format and switching everyone up. It was nice to pair up with different folks and laugh and have a good time.

Please let it be known that I was NOT the 1st person to have alcohol that day. I simply had a few because I felt bad for Brian drinking alone. /ccboard/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I ran into ARJ shortly after he got back from the pool room. He wasn't feeling any pain at that point. /ccboard/images/graemlins/tongue.gif They were kicking people out of the arena so they could clean up for the evening matches so we headed over to the bar. (where else is one to go?!?!?) I know he had a great time and Tony taking the time to stop by and shoot pool with them simply made his trip. Kudos to Tony for hanging out...it doesn't require much time or effort and it goes a long way with the fans. ARJ was tickled pink! /ccboard/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Phil.... with all that loot you took home, you better be PLAYING in the open next yr. /ccboard/images/graemlins/smile.gif

OMG, how cute was Susie?!?!? LOL

Everyone, I had a great time. I don't get over here too often but everyone accepted me right away and were very friendly and very funny. Thank you for a great time everyone. /ccboard/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Hope to join you all next year.

Timberly said, "Please let it be known that I was NOT the 1st person to have alcohol that day. I simply had a few because I felt bad for Brian drinking alone."

It is so sweet to have a beautiful girl looking after my best interests! You make me feel young again. Okay, younger. /ccboard/images/graemlins/grin.gif Someone's got to be first and if you ain't first, you're last! /ccboard/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

As always, it was terrific to see, play, eat, laugh and carry on with everyone again! The tournament was a great time even with a small field. Rich and Kathy get major props for all their work. It's always my pleasure to make the trophies - some year I'll forget to put my stamp on the back and win one so no one can say I made it instead of winning.

Tony coming by for a meet and greet was terrific. If pro pool had a couple of dozen of his type, we'd have something to build on. Such a genuine person and a great sportsman and competitor. I heard him say he'd rather play great and lose than play badly and win. That's the heart of a champion right there. Props to you Tony! I have to come to Amsterdam and take a lesson just to say I did!

Best to all my friends on the CCB. Hope those of you that couldn't make it this year find a way to make it next year!

A Message from The Mayor's Desk

I have to agree with everyone so far. What a great time. For thise who weren't there, you missed my Strickland impersonation. I was playing bad, but somehow pulled out 2nd place. Unlike Earl, I will take second as playing good.

Rich and Cathy: Great Job
Mr and Mrs DG: Always a pleasure
The Happy Couple: May your days be long and full of happiness!
Mike: Keep the faith and call upon your friends. That's why we are here. P.S. I can't be empeached!
Pooldaddy: Congrats! Thanks for your commitment for next year already.
Rich H: I got it worked out. Enjoy that cue!
Little Tony from Maryland: You are nuts! You'll fit right in.
Timberly: If I had you and Wendy there at the same time.... what am I doing. I can't type that.
Brian, ARJ and Phil: My brothers in booze, I mean pool. Midnight matches are the best, as are 1 and 2 am matches.

A special thanks to Tony Robles. A man that keeps his word. It's great to see the future of our sport in the hands of men like you and our new US Open Champion!

We need to get going on prizes on next year.
Pooldaddy and I already have one of our big prizes set up.

I also want to thank everyone who gave prizes to this years tournament. They were greatly apprecaited.

As always, Thank you Barry for another great US Open and you hospitality at Q-Master. Love the renovations!

His Honor,

The Mayor

I am jealous of you all - you look like you had a great time again this year.

Rich, thanks for the photos. It makes me all the more determined to be with you all at next year's Open. And anyway, I've got a title to try to re-gain! /ccboard/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Congratulations to all of this year's winners, either at the table or in the numerous raffles that took place. And Brian, the trophies look stunning once again. Good work!

Best wishes

ah man, looks like y'all had so much fun! I wish I still could have gone, but as I told Rich a Vegas vacation awaits me and the future Mrs. Sack... and unfortumately I am but po' white boy just trying to make it by... so it was one or the other this time around. Also I promised the lady a pair of Minolos(sp?) for her birthday... which I didn't realize was a whole budget in themselves!

Anyway, we're heading out on Sunday (my bday!), and I only hope we will have as much fun as you guys appeared to have! And next year I'm finding a way to join you guys come hell or high water!

Thanks cardman! It wasn't the same without you there to defend your title. Next year though, you'll get the chance to win it back. Not much of one unfortunately because I discovered the joys of Saturday morning play sans hangover and I'm going to use it to my advantage. /ccboard/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Best to you!

Minolos aren't a "budget", they are a down payment on a house. /ccboard/images/graemlins/blush.gif /ccboard/images/graemlins/blush.gif /ccboard/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Start planning for next year now and put a little away each week and you will be able to join us. Bring the new Mrs. along too. She will love it.

Have a Happy Birthday and enjoy Vegas with your lady. /ccboard/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Mike...I didn't realize anyone made pool cues out of palm wood. My good buddy is the #1 dealer in the U.S. for palm wood furniture...very exotic, very unusual (www.exotichome.net). I'll be coming through Albany again before too long, and we'll have to meet up at the Golden 8-Ball again...this time for a session of play!

Nice to see two of my students finish 1st & 2nd in the CCB tournament. Nothing makes me happier than to see people who love the game get better! LOL

Sorry to have missed the dinner and the tournament.

Next time I'll make darn sure I have some leisure time for myself.

Nice meeting Kimberly and all the others again at the Open.

At least I spent some time on Sunday with Rich & the Mrs. Brian, The Mayor, Phil, Kato at Q-Masters. Did I forget anyone?
