Gayle... /ccboard/images/graemlins/frown.gif and i know you "righties" (including bUSH himself who I was told from a well informed source was a regular reader of Gayles insightful and thought provoking post) also misses her too, even if you won't fess up to it.

Its been over 30 days since she was blamed for all the CCB troubles I can't wait for her return so she can smite you all /ccboard/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I have been in contact with her and you are right.
Bush emailed her personally and thanked her for
being his conscience.
Bring back Gayle! Bring back Gayle!

I believe that Gayle will return soon, much to the chagrin of some here who have different viewpoints. I miss her fair and unbiased commentary, on the latest revelations concerning the underhanded dealings of the present admin.
Why would a President issue a blanket pardon to himself, if he believed his actions to be justified?
Unless.....and this is only my wildest speculation....he's planning on doing the right thing for the American people just before he is drummed out of office....he's going to "whack' Cheney, Rice and Rummy????

that's not fair...I once had an original post.
I have an excuse though for my cut & paste jobs. I recognise that most folks here are much smarter then I am, have greater knowlege of events, and can express themselves much better then I can. I have to rely on other's writings just to try to join in on the learned discussions on the CCB. My Mama didn't raise no John Nash types, or even an Ogden Nash type.

Just to set the record straight, Gayle did not leave the board due to frustration, political pressure, or any similar reasons. She did PM me and I will only say that she is not posting for personal reasons. I don't think she is gone forever.
(Actually, she is being held captive on a remote island and being forced to listen to Rush Limbaugh 24/7. Don't be surprised if she returns as a true conservative! /ccboard/images/graemlins/grin.gif)

Ed, you'll be happy then to know that she has not been idle. she's read both John Dean's book, and Bob Woodward's book; spends some spare time watching C-Span.....and has a host of
new material with which to engage in civil discourse with you, Steve, and Deeman.

I was sure of it. She is definitely an active reader. I wish I had more time to read but with my son and daughter, the evenings are pretty hectic. /ccboard/images/graemlins/smile.gif

With all politics aside, I think I would get a bit depressed if all I read was a bunch of books that maliciously attacked one person over and over.

I never really thought she left the board, the last post of hers that I read stated she was taking the boat out on vacation. She goes on some great vacations (last year was supposed to be Cuba but that did not happen) and I can't think of a more relaxing way than sailing. /ccboard/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Hi sweetie!

I miss you too, lol. I have been lurking occasionally, thought I would do a check on how things would be if I were not posting, since a certain someone accused me of hi-jacking her board, lol. Well, DG, a bit off the beam in his pointed (Q and yours truly)accusations, also, since it looks like many here are interested in current events, and politics, and after staying away for a month or so, the CCB NPR continues to be a format for political discussions, and, well, as long as the rest of you are putting in your two cents worth, why shouldn't I?

Hey, when R U coming??? /ccboard/images/graemlins/grin.gif

My dear friend, I'm sure some will see my posts on here and say, OH NO! SHEEEEEES BAAAAAK! LMAO. After much soul searching, I have decided that both Q and I are fixtures here on the CCB NPR, and are more frequent visitors than those who complained about us. IOW, Q and I have some rights, too! LOL. If they can't handle our opinions, without turning things into personal attacks, and copping attitudes, tough!

Hey, now that's what I've been wondering...but here's a better question for you, why would Americans go into the booth and vote Republican, after sixteen National Security agencies have stated that Bush's policies in Iraq have made everything worse, and the Republicans have blocked investigations which could have held this administration to some kind of accountability, oh, that's right, accountability, is now called, "The BLame Game" LMAO!

Woodward's book, which was, btw, rushed into print, and which he finished only two months ago, tells the story very well, and it is, btw, the same story told by Richard Clarke, as regards this administration's failure to continue the detailed, progressive, terrorist policies which had been put into place by the Clinton Administration.
It becomes quite obvious, that Rice, failed to follow through with unprecedented warnings pre 9/11.

I feel very distressed about the circumstances our people are in in the Middle East.

How I wish Bush would get rid of Rice, and Rumsfeld. If only he would atleast do that much, we'd have a fighting chance.

Love ya jack...

Oh how I wish I had been vacationing! My daughter is going to have surgery around the first of November, so I'm rushing around here, trying to get prepared to take over her home and family while she recouperates from shoulder surgery. Fall deep cleaning, and preparing my gardens for winter, (and wouldn't you know, I bought hundreds of tulip and daffodil bulbs, just before I realized what was coming) have had me in a mad rush to get everything finished before she goes in. Had to skip our usual voyage this year...

While living in Europe in the mid-1990's, I made arrangements for some of Q's associates to send a bunch of tulip blubs back home to my mom. I ordered 144. The bill was a little more than I thought it would be, but what the heck, as an ex-pat American I just paid it. My mom called a few days later. I had ordered 144 DOZEN of the little bugers! All my mother's friends had plenty of tulips that year.

"Don't be surprised if she returns as a true conservative"

Hell freezing over comes to mind for some reason, but in all honesty, I feel many announced conservatives turned into the opposite direction with this current crew we have in Washington. Once some Repubs with TRUE conservative values return to our leadership, hell may thaw out again. Open borders and desires to change the US constitution and abstaining from lies will need to be the new format in conservative-ism though. IMO, Gayle has nailed this bunch with so many well documented facts gained from watching, reading and plain and simple, being open minded, I found it pitifull to come here and follow the trail of replies denying anything that was not totally far right. It was a zoo, with a chimp in the central topic. I'm not sure that even a democratic controlled house and senate can correct this mess, except for being able to bridle Bush on any more of his lame decisions. Impeachment and criminal actions are far more needed now than they ever were with Bill's love life in the bathroom. We didn't kill anybody with that "shot" except for the deaths of the living sperm on Monica's dress /ccboard/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Stay in tough Gayle, I always read your posts but seldom read most of the rebuttals from the "you know whos". Facts made sense, denial became idiotic to even allow entry into my conscious, concerned for this country's, mind. It's kinda like deciding not to watch butcher types of movies,,,I don't need the image of those nor do I need many of the research-less rebuttals to Gayle's updates on the facts, the FACTS.

I will look in more now that Gayle is here, but basically I've about beat the habit of being on the CCB. Gayle's research and reports give value IMO, for the "good of this country". I'll wager NOBODY on the so called right has even read many if any, of Gayle's books nor watched the C-Span reports. Denial leads to destruction, so how about reading some of her sugested material instead of simply bashing.

Take care of your daughter and take another break at times Gayle. It'll make you feel better, cuz some people will never change their views until GW is caught on tape sticking a knife into their own grandmother's back. I honestly believe that as reality today. National and worldwide opinion polls reflect about the same sentiment. JM2C....sid

Gayle in MD
10-08-2006, 12:20 PM
Gee, thanks, Martin. Fortunately, many of the "Facts" you speak of, are now undeniable, and can no longer be conveniently swept under the rug of rhetoric, nor minimized beyond inquirey. Americans are now willing to be painted as traitors, and likened to terrorists, as punishment for seeking the truth.

Tragically, most of the damage to our country, as a nation, can never be undone. The world will never forget this pre-emptive occupation, built on lies. Nor will it ever forget that our great country, tortured innocent people, denied them human and legal rights, and that our President, Vice President, Secretary of Defense, and Secretary of State, lied about the torture, about the plight of our troops, and lied about the urgency of our cause.

There will be a lasting stain, that our Congress, changed laws to protect their fellow partisans from responsibility, and punishment, for war crimes committed, which will never fade from international memory. Torture can never be justified, in the hearts and minds of those who still hold dear the spirit of what it means to be an American.

Parents will never forget that our leaders offered up their children, for a cause which did not exist. And those who consider joining our National Guard, and armed services, will never forget that our President, along with other top officials, abandoned needs of our servicemen and women, left to struggle, ill prepared, ill equipped, on a battlefield, to be slaughtered, for a people who would as soon kill them, themselves, For a purpose, so convoluted, so ill conceived, and so dishonestly portrayed, that our troops themselves, have no reasonable or clear objective, for which they make their struggle, and risk their lives.

Our great responsibility, as citizens, is to be dilligently skeptical, consistantly protective, and stubbornly determined, to stay abreast in every way possible, of what our service people face on every battle field. As Americans, it is our duty, to be informed, and to demand that any decision to send our people to war, must be for a worthy and urgent cause, apparent to the rest of the world, against the correct enemy, or for the benefit of proven allies, worthy of American sacrifice... but never for unproven, potential threats, of uncertain future possibilities.

G.
