Both are long respected companies making good products. Try them both and buy the one that feels best to you.

Many versions of each.
I play with a Schon LTD 315 that I picked up for $500 and think it is great. I have a 314 for it but actually play with the shaft that came with it.
If you plan on putting a 314 shaft on either one then I would say just buy the one that you think is the prettiest, feels right, sounds right.

Joss comes with a 13.25 mm pro taper shaft, Schön is 13 mm with a conical taper. Feel is subjective.

Both are good but I'd take a look at some custom
cues in that range. Shurtz, Keith Josey, Jeff Olney,
Jerry Rauenzahn, Pat Diviney. All better than any
production cues.
