View Full Version : Dots on Pool Table

I've got a pool tble on order right now, the first one I've ever bought. I got to thinking today about the dots that are used to mark the head/foot spots and I was wondering what top tables use. Do they just use those vinyl stick-on bulls-eyes or do they mark directly on the cloth or is their a third option? I mean, it seems to me like the vinyl ones would make the table slightly imperfectly level for balls crossing the dots, etc.

If you want there are some fabric spots available. They have very little impact on the game or roll of the ball. I always mark new cloth by laying out a head string line from sidf to side of the middle diamond to define the "kitchen". I then make a foot string line from the spot to the rack end of the rail as this comes in handy for spotting balls. If you still don't want a "sopt" Just make a small dot wiht a marker at the "spot." If you plan to play a lot of 14.1 you might want to mark the center spot halfway between the center pockets.
