I love the game of pool and I don't have a room big enough for an 8-ft table, but I do have a HUGE covered breezeway/carport.
I looked at "outdoor" tables and did not like the price tag. I also knew I would have to move the table from time to time so I did not want a 3-pc slate. I bought an 8-ft Valley Black Cat with a 1-pc slate 1 month before Katrina hit.
When we knew we had to evacuate, I covered he table with a tarp and hoped for the best. The pool table sat outside in the furious wind, rain and flooding of Katina.
I came home to find I had 4 inches of water in the house and 8 inches in the carport. Most of my furniture ruined by the flood.
But the table came through without a scratch. Not a hint of mold on the cloth or unpainted plywood underneath. The formica surface was unaffected by the rain. The legs, fiberglass and aluminum, had 8 inches of water on them, but no problem. This bar box is plenty tough.
