The only place I ever saw some (4) was at a college recreation room in Fort Washington PA. IIRC, they were manufactured in Philadelphia. I know the one I played on was very solid. Where did you see them?

I have one myself. It's 50 or 60 years old now, and plays fine - 9 footer, thick slate. The only thing is that it wasn't easy to level. We needed a good table mechanic to do it right. We have a subway return system that also works well.
