Well, we will get a chance to see how manipulative Pelosi can be when she wants something to pass... Pelosi works to rally Dems as Iraq pullout vote looms (http://www.cnn.com/2007/POLITICS/03/21/us.iraq.ap/index.html) [ QUOTE ]
Up to a dozen Democrats might resist setting a deadline to end the war in Iraq, prompting House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to call in prominent party members to help rally wavering Democrats for what could be a close vote.

I don't think there could be anything more detrimental to the progress made in the Iraq war than announcing a pull out date. This is the dumbest thing the left has done to date.
If you read a little further down you will see the newly-led Dem Senate does not have any problem spending a few billion dollars themselves. [ QUOTE ]
Meanwhile, the Senate is expected to consider a $121 billion emergency spending bill Thursday. Majority Leader Harry Reid said he expects the bill to include a provision comparable to a resolution considered last week. That resolution, rejected by a 48-50 vote, would have called for troops to leave Iraq by March 2008.

How much more money needs to be spent?
[ QUOTE ]
Anti-war liberals, including California Reps. Barbara Lee, Lynn Woolsey, Maxine Waters and Ohio Rep. Dennis Kucinich, have said they will oppose the legislation because it would not end the war immediately.

Talk about gigantic mistakes...these guys are looking for a bill to end the war immeadiately. Wow, what good would become of that? The great part about it would be the soldiers coming home and being out of harms way. The immeadite negative following that is that they would be redeployed in months when pandemonium broke out and it would be an even deadlier situation.
