Janine just beat Allison 5-3 a fine match. Janine plays Shu-Pin Kao in the next and last match for her in the round robin but she has three loses so I don't think she has a chance to make the first single elimination round to bad.

Hi Harry-
Can I ask you a question? Like, what is the obsession with the prize money? I mean, it is what it is and hopefully in the future it will get better, but for now, this is it,ya know what I mean?
It seems you post wonderful news about Kim and then you dog it and I just dont understand why.........we all can sit here and complain about payouts, but if YOU can't personally do anything about it, then why waste and exert all that negative energy? Cm'on now Harry-I know you follow pool, so BE HAPPY! /ccboard/images/graemlins/wink.gif
Also, maybe,just maybe,theres a strong passion/love for the game? /ccboard/images/graemlins/wink.gif
Hope the Easter Bunny brings you a HUGE HAPPY basket full of chocolates,ha ha!
Stay well!

Carol, You are from New York and you wonder what the obsession about money is? New Yorkers thrive on money. It is in their blood. The one with the most is the most successful.

Watch the stock market channel sometime. All those people on the tube are multi millionaires and they love to flaunt it.

Playing for the love of it and for fun is for amateurs. That is the excuse all us losers give anyway.

The pros should be playing for the money.

Carol, I agree with you. Players can't play for money that is not available to them. Should they stop playing and let pool die? I don't think so. They have to keep playing and show the public that pool is a good game and worth watching.

People, like Harry, who do little other than complain, do not help the situation.

Carol,

My wife's sister's daughter, very beautiful, young (31) is in the same predicament. Paralyzed after an accident. Only she has not received anything from a possible settlement. Yes, it would be nice to have her health back, but that will not happen so in that case money is important, no matter what your friend might say. Without it how can she manage 24/7 care?

Also, keep in mind that the settlement money is not your friend's but is there to take care of her son. If she is living the high life off of it then shame on her.

Harry, only four players from the good old USA?

Rich,

Let me set you straight. The only reason I follow pool is because of the women. Do little?

I support women’s pool, I have sponsored players, I contributed time and money to the Cat Tour, I even received an award for my service to women’s pool.

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c294/Gremlin711/AWARD_HARRY.jpg

Here also are three chracter references Rich ask them when you see them.

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c294/Gremlin711/Holly_Trish_Eve.jpg

The only thing I have ever noticed you do for pool is show up for free pool take photos and try to bait
people in billiard forums you are jealous of.

Now back to the tournament!

And I think you may have misunderstood, but, my friend didnt get any money from a settlement, she was wealthy BEFORE her son was in the accident-her family is worth millions due to real estate and hardware chain-my point was "money isnt everything",in that,no matter how much she has, the best doctors in U.S. and Europe, they can't make him walk-if she were to be piss poor right now so her son could walk, would she?" Yes!

Now back to the tournament!

There is no need to set me straight Harry. I know that you provided some money to the CAT tour, which I'm sure they were grateful. Holly, Trish and Eve did a very good job, while it lasted.
Your "award" was for your support of the CAT tour, not for your service to women's pool. I think you could consider that award as a thank you for your financial support and your money probably paid for it.

As for sponsoring players, I'm also aware that you have done that too. What you don't know is what some of those ladies said about you when you weren't around. Maybe some day you will find out, but I doubt it.

You have no idea of what I do to support pool, and I say "pool", as my support is not restricted to the ladies. I may not have the financial resources that you do, but I support pool, in my own way, and I don't have to make my actions public on the internet. You see Harry, I am not jealous of anyone, especially you, and I don't have to make my actions public, in order to make me feel more important than someone else. I also do not bait anyone.

I concede the fact that you are in a better financial position than me and a lot of others. You have made it very public by posting of your many travels and your support of players. I commend you for your support of pool in that way. However, on the forums, you rarely participate in any thread without complaining about something in the pool world. By doing this, IMHO, you detract from any support you may have provided. Your complaints serve no usefull purpose and they may be chasing away some novice players and potential fans. I don't think you realize how much harm your compaints could be causing and I'm not sure you really care. You just want to feel important in your little corner of the world.

He must like your picture since he copied it into his reply.

Wasn't he the guy who got all bent out of shape when someone else copied one of his pictures in a thread. So bent out of shape that now no one posts any pictures on AZB.

Yep he sure is great for pool.

And Harry you are not complaining about the state of pool, all you are doing is making observations. Observations that any fool should be able to see.

Keep up the good work Harry. You are head and shoulders above the malcontents. The women do love you.

Jake, if you will take note, I copied Harry's pictures as part of the quote of his post. I did not post his pictures without giving him credit and I did not try to pass them off as my own. I also do not have any of Harry's pictures in my private collection. Many others, including Harry, are guilty of these offenses. What I did, breaks no laws. What others have done, and was the subject of my prior complaints, is breaking the law. You really should understand the difference.

BTW, many others, including myself, have posted pictures on AZB since my complaints. They are posted for the viewing pleasure of the members, but they are not available, under the law, for others to copy and use for their own purposes.
If anyone would be responsible for members not posting pictures, it would be those who steal those pictures for their own use.

Kelly Fisher and Kim White did well. Where did they end up? 3/4?

Carol,

I met Allen a couple years ago when he came down here for one of Charlie's tournmaments. Seemed like a nice person and full of fun. Never heard anyone say anything bad about him and his tournaments are always top notch. It must be because you are running them.

With all he has done for pool he should be in the Hall of Fame next time for sure.

That's the first I heard of it.

In 2008?

The players have to qualify first at $200 a pop and then those who qualify will have to pay $5,000 each to play in the tournament?

Should be interesting to see how it plays out.

I just saw that they are talking about it on poolchat.net.

No, its 200 to play the qualifier-your playing for the entry-if you win the qualifier, you won the entry-thats on a 32-field qualifier-if 64 players show up,then its 100 to play qualifier-its kinda weird and I dont understand it too much myself-soon Allen will update a website he said he had on the tournament and it will explain this part-
Its a 9-ball,round robin format-group of 4 players,race to 5,best 3 out of 5,3 sets so your guaranteed to play 45 games /ccboard/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ccboard/images/graemlins/wink.gif-
It'll be held at Valley Forge Convention Center and thats all I know at thuis time-but, at least we have a little headsup on it,ya know?

Hi Harry,
Congratulations to Kim White-I am so proud of her and happy for her-she has worked extremely hard and has been consistent in her performance on the pro tour placing in the top 8-16-
For those who do not know, her hand was injured and she had multiple operations-just recently her last we hope-her discipline, dedication and perseverance is impeccable-
She is one of my roommates on the pro tour-is genuinely kind and down to earth, involved with Boys/Girls Clubs, runs tournaments weekly out of Bogies in Texas and has the heart of a lion-
Way to go Kim!
Thanks Harry for all the updates!
Take care!
