View Full Version : Our Jena Awaits, Iraq War

"America's generals have repeated the mistakes of Vietnam in Iraq. First, throughout the 1990s our generals failed to envision the conditions of future combat and prepare their forces accordingly. Second, America's generals failed to estimate correctly both the means and the ways necessary to achieve the aims of policy prior to beginning the war in Iraq."

Gee, Martin. If we had just had you doing all our strategic planning we would not be in this fine mess. /ccboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

I think Martin's observations are right on target. Surely you don't believe this quagmire has been properly prosecuted, do you? The notion in and of itself, that anything reasonably positive could come out of this, was idiotic in the first place. This is what happens when a bunch of elitist intellectuals with no common sense, find themselves a stupid figure head with a name, and no brains, and began to promote their arrogantly limited knowledge, mixed with their mistaken ideal of self-omnipotence, and suggest themselves into our foreign affairs with the help and support of the wealthy corporate fascists who ultimately make money off the blood of our youth. Every American should be studying the rise of the American Enterprise Institue, and the fascists like Kristol, Wolfowitz and Feith, and those who were behind the Project For The New American Century. They have bought and paid for, much of our formerly honorable high ranking military, also on the take from war profiteering. The sarcasm isn't fair at all, IMO. It is the Americans who are NOT, angry about the mess Bush has made of things, who are damaging to our country, not those who speak out against lies and incompetence. Fortunately, those of us who are aware of the real reasons for the occupation, are not daunted by the sarcasm of those who either don't, or won't make an effort to do something more than take the word of the liar in the White House, or one of his right wing partisan fellow war profiteering fascists like Kristol, Rumsfeld, Cheney, and the rest of the PFTNAC fascists.

This was never really about WMD, or 9/11, or Democracy, or terrorism. It was, and is, about OIL. Hence, the necessity of humongous lies in order to launch this mistaken war.

I wish Martin were running things. He'd do a much better job than bush, that's for sure! Martin, has integrity, for one thing, something that George Bush, Cheney, Wolfowitz, Feith, and pundits like Kristol, and the Corporate fascists in this country don't even begin to grasp.

Thanks for the link, Martin. I think our Generals were brushed aside by Presidents who refused to accept the truth of the circumstances with the Vietnam war, and we're seeing the same thing again. When the generals told Bush things he didn't want to accept, he simply axed them, and replaced them with others who would take follow the administration over a cliff, just as they replaced the AG's for political purposes, so they replaced the Genreals. the heros in this story, are the man Generals, and Federal Employees who resigned in protest, or spoke out against the illegal, immoral actions of this corrupt administration, and their corporate fascist cronies, who are laughi9ng all the way to the bank. IMO, no President, or leader, should launch a war, unless he goes to fight in it. We'd have peace in the world real fast!

BTW, Laura Bush makes me sick. Did you hear what she said this week? The war doesn't hurt nayone any more than it hurts George and herself! What a colossal insult to all the widows, widowers, and orphaned children who have suffered from this war, the blind, the maimed, the suffering, and the survivors and families who are struggling to care for their broken loved ones, as Bush, cuts money for their needs. She is absolutely repulsive.

I couldn't have put it better. Surely any right-thinking
American would have to agree with your post.

Thanks Hondo. Who was it that said...When Facsism comes, it comes with a smile on its face, waving a flag.

Those who support this administration without question or investigation, are hurting our country so much more than they realize, IMO. They can't get past the fact that this isn't about The Democrats, it's about America. Unfortunately, their focus seems to be stuck on a measly tax cut, while Bush bankrupts the country.

"Unfortunately, their focus seems to be stuck on a measly tax cut, while Bush bankrupts the country."

Some people are ignorant or just plainly put,,,selectivly blind, and all for the price of $20 a week after taxes. All the while the percentage of super rich's protfolio in the country goes up 23%, biggest in forever. And we call this the educated, modern nation of the world. sid

True, and if not for the great societal benefits of organized religion, /ccboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif They'd never have been able to pull it off.

Check it out Martin...
