I am looking to have a cue made, and Id like to find a cue maker who makes the best hitting cue for under $600. I dont need any points or inlays, maybe just a couple of rings and an exotic wood forearm and butt. I do need the cue to be at least 60", hence the custom cue.

Matador cues who uses Tom Coker gave me a price of $600, but I didnt know if the year wait was worth it. Anybody have anyone they know to make really good cues, but not in the 1000 dollar range like a Kikel or a McWorter.

I've been playing with a Barry Cameron cue for the past 8 years and I've never wanted to hit with anything else since I first hit with them. His plain Jane cues, (what you described in your post), are right in your price range. He can be reached at:

860-669-8498 Make sure you call in the evening after 6 PM(ET)

if you can't get him there, just go to his website, www.cameroncues.com. (http://www.cameroncues.com.)

2 of our cuemakers here in Wichita:

Bob Owen of Shurtz Custom Cues, his entry customs start at
$250: Shurtz Custom cues (http://www.Shurtzcue.com)

Bob is my cuemaker, and turns out very good cues. He is the father of Gabe Owen, pro player.

And Dennis Cash of Cash Cues, he has a 60" custom for $250
(click on cues - first one listed):
Cash Cues (http://www.Cashcues.com)

Dennis has been making cues about 5 years, and you get a lot for the money with him.
