Filing cue tips

Years ago, when straight pool was occasionally broadcast on network TV, when a player missed a shot they would go to their chair and immediately start filing the tip of their cue.

You never see that now. Not even a touch up with a shaper.

Just wondering why. I noticed my tip was lopsided today and went looking for a file to fix it.

Nervous response. Like I was watching the snooker champs on youtube. AS they thing they chalk their stick repeatedly, Of course a mis cue could be a tip problem so it's good to check it out when it happens. Sometimes a tip get sbad and starts to miscue. GOod to be paying attention to it. Scuffing maybe is like havin a conversation with the tip.

with all the tip shapers out now. If you use a file there is a good chance your tip will be lop sided
