I didn't realize how close Arnold was to Rt 50 Are any of the CCB/CAT regulars going to be playing at this tour stop? I can probably stop by on my way home from the beach on Saturday for some pool, conversation and keychain delivery.

Hi Nostroke,

I am sorry about the hotel situation. Let me contact the Comfort Inn that Harry recommended (Thanks Harry for your help : ) and see if I can get a block set up there also with a decent rate. That way folks have options. I am not the best with hotels I guess, but I try : )

It was great to see you in Athens and really enjoyed dinner with you and the dear NYC contengency!

Hi Everyone,

I just called the Comfort Inn Annapolis on Old Mill Bottom Road. I told him the group, room block...yada, yada, yada. He said they do not do discount rates in the summer on the weekends. He quoted me $115 (Yipes!!!)

I will keep searching for a hotel that does not practice highway robbery!

OY VEY $115!!

Well im gonna go book at Red Roof then- Its 15 miles away but i saw an internet rate there of $58.00 single. I'm in their program for a free nite every 10 so that's gonna be it.

Yes Holly. Georgia was great! Manassas. Laurel, Arlington too. Every one is good always. As you may have heard me say, I love pool, women, and traveling so where else would i be?

Wish you would expand a little more north out of the DC area now and then for a change though. How about a Delaware event or even Southern PA (Would Newt mind?)

Thanks

Just a hint to all you travelers-In areas not likely to "sell out" sometimes its best to just show up at a hotel and ask for the very best rate with a story that you are already booked elsewhere (or in fact have a reservation elsewhere). I did this last week in Amsterdam.

I had weeks earlier tried to book online at the Radisson and a small private hotel. They wanted $190 Euros and $120 respectively which based on past experience i thought was steep. I did the show up thing at both places. The Radisson was $130 (last minute special) and the private hotel $65 with breakfast. I took the latter and saved $165 for the 3 day stay. Of course this will not work at chain budget hotels like Red Roof or Motel 6

Nostroke,

I go for the access, like the Hilton at 34th and 8th ave. Right out of Grand Central to the hotel and the garden.

Here in Arnheim, Netherlands Single Room: 110 Euros per night, right across the street form the train station, right around the corner from Jaansplatts and the poolroom.

Sorry, only trying to get you as close to pool as possible.

You are at the IBC event? I wasn't in Amsterdam for that. I just took a little side trip after Cardiff. I thought of staying for the IBC thing and almost changed my ticket.

I did see a couple of Players in Amsterdam's Red Light District but I' m not talking. I of course was just there out of "curiosity". I was very curious.

Oh yea Harry-Just for your info-Thats PENN station-Grand Central is on 42nd St!
