watched a semi final amateur golf match on tv the other day. Young man was leading by two, with three holes to play....and missed the winning short putts...under 5 ft on number 16,17,18,...and then lost the match on the first playoff hole with another missed 4 or 5 ft'r.
The other guy chipped in on 16, and made a 60 ft'r on 17 so he earned his victory.

I was playing a guy 20 years ago and hit probably the longest drive of my life. We were even after 16. I said, "Beat that!" The hole was an elevated tee with the most winding cart path I've ever seen. Yep, he bounced it four times and outdrove me by 80 yards and was greenside on a long par 4. He chipped in and I made 5. I was so shook up, like Elvis, that I hit my next drive about 120 yards and he won by five strokes. I played that course for the next five years and never, ever hit that cart path, even once! And I think pool is sometimes unfair. /ccboard/images/graemlins/confused.gif
